Halloween around Northampton: Overstone Grange pumpkins from £1, Wicksteed Park's £16 half-term wristband, Delapré's ghost nights and two fireworks displays.

Halloween in Northampton is a two-week affair in 2026. The pumpkin farms open first, the big family attractions run through half term (Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, or two weeks from 19 October at three of the town’s secondaries), and Halloween night itself, Saturday 31 October, brings Diwali on the Market Square and the Duston Mill fireworks, with the town’s free Racecourse display the next evening. Every date and price below is from the organiser’s own website, checked on 4 October.

The quick answer

  • Pumpkin picking: Overstone Grange Farm, off the A43 near Moulton, is open now at weekends and daily from 24 to 31 October, pumpkins from £1, tickets booked in advance. Wappenham Farm near Towcester opens on 10 October.
  • Biggest half-term day out: Wicksteed Park in Kettering, 24 October to 1 November, wristbands £16 for children and £10 for adults.
  • Halloween night, Sat 31 October: Gala Events’ Bonfire Spooktacular at Duston Mill (kids’ Halloween fireworks 6.45pm, main display 8.30pm, from £8) and Diwali on the Market Square, 10am to 8pm.
  • Sun 1 November: Northampton Town Council’s free fireworks on the Racecourse, billed as a “Halloween Special”, display at 6pm.
  • Free: the Canal Museum’s Halloween pumpkin trail at Stoke Bruerne, 24 to 31 October.

Pumpkin picking

Overstone Grange Farm is the closest big patch to town, “just off the A43 between Moulton and Holcot”. It is the farm’s eighth autumn, with around 30 acres and 90 varieties of pumpkins and gourds, a maize maze and a play patch, according to its Pumpkin Patch 2026 page.

  • Open: weekends from 26 September, then every day from Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October.
  • Pumpkin Nights, for picking by torchlight: 9, 16 and 23 October.
  • Pumpkins are priced by size, starting at £1. Entry tickets are needed for everyone in the group, under-2s free, and the farm says it cannot guarantee tickets on the gate; online tickets are cheaper. The ticket price is shown at booking.
  • Parking is free, in a grass field. No dogs except assistance dogs. Leave the buggy at home: the farm recommends a sling, because the field is uneven and muddy.
  • The farm warns it may close in extreme weather and posts updates on its Facebook and Instagram.

Wappenham Farm, Rectory Farm, Wappenham, NN12 8SQ, near Towcester, runs its Pumpkin Farm Festival from Saturday 10 October. The admission ticket covers a 3D Spooky Trail through the maize maze, the play patch and the pumpkin patch; pumpkins cost extra. Dogs are welcome on a lead and parking is free.

Its Twilight evenings, with picking under lights, live music, fire shows and marshmallow toasting, are on Friday 23, Saturday 24, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, 6pm to 9.30pm, per its Twilight page. Tickets are sold through the farm’s DigiTickets portal and the farm recommends booking ahead.
